The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in health & social Care is an academic qualification for the health & social sector. It is designed to provide a knowledge base to enable students to progress to L3 qualifications or to specific work role training

Course content

Course content

In addition you will study Functional Skills in Numeracy & Literacy as part of the programme. Also, there is a compulsory requirement that students will complete Certificate in PSD, Mental Health & Substance Misuse at L1 as part of the programme

Entry Requirements

Entry to the course is through an interview to establish that students will benefit and succeed on to the course and by initial assessment to check literacy, numeracy and assignment writing ability levels

Delivery & Assessment methods

The timetable will be over three days of the week and lessons will be any time between 9.00 and 8.00 Assessment is by successful completion of unit assignments. Functional Skills are assessed by exam

Progression

The course can lead to the Access Programmes in Health & Social Care Professions, or the Access to Social Science/Humanities with a view to progressing to university studying related degree programmes with in the UK or abroad, Apprenticeships and work based Diplomas(previously called NVQs). If you wish to progress to Access courses you will need to meet the entry requirements and pass the initial assessment & interview used for selection purposes.
