Health & Social Care BTEC Diploma Level 2 Course Details The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care is designed to equip individuals and develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required at an operational level in the care sector. Students will undertake 8 units of study: Mandatory units: Communication in Health & Social Care Individual rights in Health & Social Care Individual Needs in Health & Social Care Ensuring Safe Environments in Health & Social Care. Plus 4 specialist units. In addition to the above, functional skills in Maths and English will also be delivered. A Course For Individuals aiming to work in the Health and Social Care Sector or progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care. Entry Requirements All applicants must display a genuine interest in working in the care sector. Applications must have 4 GCSEs at grade D-E or above, or alternatively, a Health & Social Care BTEC Diploma Level 1. Assessment Units will be assessed internally. Functional skills in Maths and English also part of this programme; are assessed externally. Learning Outcome Successful achievement of 8 units of study will provide the student with the qualification of BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Progression after Programme BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care. Additional Information Students have to successfully complete 60 hours of work experience.
