Course Level: 3 Time NeededStudents are required to attend one day a week, on a Monday or
Tuesday for Years 12 and 13.
Times of attendance are between 9.15am – 4.50pm.
The aim is to meet the needs of learners who work or wish to work in the Outdoor Adventure industry and to allow the students to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment or career progression in the Outdoor Adventure sector. We use facilities around the campus including our high/low ropes, climbing wall, lake, mountain bikes to develop the underpinning skills to enable personal and professional development.

- Skills for Land-Based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
- Skills for Water-Based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
- Leadership in Sport
- Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Spor
3 units are delivered per day. Successful completion of 3 units will achieve a Level 3 Certificate and successful completion of 6 units.
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional
qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions as well as independent research.
Assessment strategies will consist of written evidence, research, reports, practical assessments and presentations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a Higher Education programme or employment.
The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma earns UCAS Tariff points which combined with A levels can gain entrance into University.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
