Description
Course Level: 3 Time NeededStudents are required to attend one day a week on a Monday or
Tuesday for Years 12 and 13.
Times of attendance are between 9.15am – 4.50pm.
The aim is to meet the needs of learners who work or wish to
work in the Countryside, Sustainability and the Environment
industry and to allow the students to learn, develop and practice
the skills required for employment or career progression in the
countryside sector. We use naturally occurring opportunities and
every week students will be timetabled to work within the gardens,
grounds and farm at Bicton.

Functional Skills
You will also gain nationally recognised functional skills
qualifications (English, Maths and ICT).
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions as well as independent research.
Assessment strategies will consist of written evidence, research, reports, practical assessments and presentations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a Higher Education programme or employment.
The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma earns UCAS Tariff points which combined with A levels can gain entrance into University.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
