Environmental Conservation (Level 2)

Course areas include habitat management, countryside law,sustainability, countryside access, ecological and surveying and livestock use in conservation. If you are working or carrying out voluntary work in the countryside and wish to gain a national qualification, thi is an ideal choice.

Course Content

This qualification forms the major part of the Apprenticeship in Countryside and the Environment: please contact the College for further details of the apprenticeship.

Your knowledge and understanding will be assessed in the classroom and your practical skills, developed at College, will be assessed in the workplace. All students will need a work placement in a countryside job for this qualification

Entry Requirements

Minimum age 16 years. Interest and enthusiasm. Tetanus protection is recommended. Working role or work placement for at least two days per week for duration of course.

What Next?

Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Environmental Conservation (part-time)
Level 3 Diploma in Countryside Management (full-time)

Employment as a Countryside ranger/warden, work on a country estate, work with environmental or wildlife charities, countryside/conservation officer, forest worker, parks officer, dry stone walling, landscaper, rights of way officer.
