You will also be given the opportunity to undertake these qualifications:

Food Safety in Catering Award at Level 2 or 3 *

Food Hygiene (RIPHH) Advanced Certificate *

Personal Licence Holders, National Certificate *

Health & Safety in the Workplace (CIEH) *

*Additional costs will be incurred.

Success rates

The success rate is 67% for hospitality apprenticeships.

What will I study?

As part of your apprenticeship you will cover the following:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Processing
  • Technical Certificate Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering Principles
  • Key Skills Level 1 in Communication
  • Key Skills Level 1 in Application of Number

What does the course lead to?

As well as being qualified to offer all services as a production line operator there may be the opportunity of progression onto a supervisory role and study towards an NVQ level 3.

What can I go on to study?

The apprenticeship can lead to an advanced apprenticeship at level 3 covering hospitality supervision and leadership. For this you will be required to work in a position supervising others.

Entry requirements

No previous qualifications are necessary for this apprenticeship; the entry requirement is that you must be in a food processing related employed position.

How much does it cost?

The apprenticeship is free of charge.

During your apprenticeship your employer is obliged to pay you a wage at the minimum rate for an apprentice.
