The Programme

This programme provides the students with a taster of the skills and experiences needed to undertake a career in sport. Units include: The Body in Sport; Instructing Exercise and Fitness; and Practical Sport and Health and Safety. You will be involved in planning and leading sports activities, instructing exercise to others and contributing to real life sport experiences. If successful at attaining the Extended Certificate you may have the opportunity to complete the Diploma.

Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade E or above. An interest in sport and the willingness to do coursework are key.
Costs
We try to keep costs to a minimum, but encourage students to purchase a course tracksuit, polo shirt/hoodie. There will also be a cost towards transport for any external trips and visits*.

Progression
The preparation and training that this course provides will give you an advantage over other applicants when applying for jobs. Successful students may also progress to other advanced courses at Petroc. Your tutor can advise you on these.
