This programme is aimed towards students wishing to follow a career pathway into the sports environment, covering a range of modules:

- Fitness testing and training
- Development of personal fitness
- Planning and leading sport activities
- Practical sport
- Sport and leisure facility operations
- Instructing exercise and fitness

Our King's Lynn sports courses are currently run at our sports campus at Lynnsport, near to the college.

End Qualification:

Diploma in Sport Level 2

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

2 GCSEs at grade C, preferably in PE or English or 4 Ds.

Current students wishing to progress on to another sport programme must demonstrate:
- Good behaviour supported by a reference from the current course director
- Attendance to be at least 95%
- Achievement of all qualifications on the current course

There will be a confirmation day on the 29th August 2012 which should be attended.

Assessment:

Assessment is completed via internal methods and includes assignments and presentations.

Progression from this course:

Successful students who have gained a merit or above can look to apply to follow the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information. There will be a start up fee for this course to include kit and any resources you need to complete the course. This is usually in the region of £70. Full details will be made available to you before you begin your course. For those who are unable to afford this, there may be funding available through student support.

Additional Information:

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be eligible to apply to the college's learner support fund for financial support with the costs associated with your studies.
