The Programme

The emphasis of this course is placed on developing countryside management skills which will enable access to Higher Education courses and realise employment opportunities with a diverse range of public and private organisations. The course is taught through a mixture of lectures, practicals and seminars.

Course Content: Ecological Principles, Environmental Skills, Estate Skills, Land Management, Wildlife Management, Machinery operations and Work Experience
1st Year:
Wildlife Management, Land Management, Estate Skills, Machinery Operations, Environmental Processes, Ecology and Conservation.
2nd Year, Progression Routes:
Environmental Conservation.

Game keeping and Wildlife Management
Fisheries

Minimum of five GCSE grades C including Maths and English.

Direct pathway onto Petrocs Foundation Degree in Sustainable Resource Management.

Length of Study

One year for Subsidiary Diploma, two years for the Diploma.
