The Programme Content
Two units are explored in the AS year and two more follow into A2. There is a 50% split between coursework and a final exam in both years. The first two units focus on the basics of communications and culture, understanding new concepts and applying them to everyday life situations. The second unit is coursework based and requires you to develop a portfolio, responding to a series of questions set by the exam board and directly relating to current cultural and communication issues. The final part of this assessment takes the form of an electronic presentation which allows you to experiment with new communication technologies. In the second year, you will begin to develop an awareness of wider communication and cultural issues and will complete a practical case study.
