AS and A2 Communication and Culture
Level: Level 3
The course enables students to gain a clearer understanding of the ways in which we communicate with society and it communicates with us. In A2, the subject broadens out to focus upon cultural theory (Market Liberalism, Marxism, Feminism, Post-modernism, Post-colonialism) and cultural sites (Fictions, Objects of Desire, Places and Spaces).
To be a successful student in Communication and Culture requires a range of skills including an interest in culture and society, solid essay writing skills, an inquisitive mind and a flair for creativity.
There will be opportunities for students to contextualise what they learn in class through trips to cultural sites, for example, the Tate …
