Energy Efficient Building Design, Short Course Programme

This is a one-day course as a refresher to architects and builders on the new regulations for 2013.

Part L of the Building Regulations, covering the Conservation of Fuel and Power, will be revised in 2013. This will see an improvement on the previous 2010 regulations.

Taking this into consideration along with planning requirements for renewable energy it is clear that energy will continue to take a more central role in building design and construction. To achieve these standards, the construction industry must adopt new energy saving and generating technologies, consider energy use much earlier in the design of buildings and work closely with Local Authorities. This course will present an overview of current and proposed changes along with help and suggestions on how this challenge can be fulfilled.

By the end of the day you will understand the principles of green building design, how to comply with green building standards and how to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations in a cost effective manner.
