The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the leading professional body at technician level in the accountancy profession in the UK. There are 3 levels to complete in order to be eligible to apply for membership Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. To qualify, students must complete (or be exempt from) the 3 levels. The Level 4 Diploma provides the final stage of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) range of qualifications and builds on the Level 2 Certificate and the Level 3 Diploma.

Course Content
Financial Accounting - continues from level 3; more detailed knowledge of financial statements and adjustments to figures produced by the ledgers, focusing on companies and the accounting standards. Management Accounting - continues from Level 3 focusing on financial performance and budgeting. Taxation - cover both personal and business taxation. Internal Control and Accounting Systems - An assessed project completed over 4 months getting you to examine the accounting function of a business and how employees fit in.
Assessment Method
Computer Based Examination An examination based assessment that you will complete at a PC in the College; results will be notified to you within six weeks.
Progression
On successful completion of the course, students may wish to progress onto other courses, such as ATT, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, and ICAS. Each of these professional bodies offers AAT qualified Accounting Technicians generous exemptions into their own training schemes. Oh, and of course, provided you meet the entry criteria you can now apply to become a member of the AAT and use the designatory letters - MAAT - well done!
Additional Information
To complete this course expect to pay approximately £1,500 comprising: College fee £210; course fee £1100; books £110; AAT student membership £80. The College registration fee of £210 is to meet the cost of sitting your exams (£35 x 6); any re-sits will incur an additional charge.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have completed the Level 3 Diploma and be recommended by the tutor to progress to this level. You will also need to maintain (£80) your student membership of the Association.
