What is Accounting?

Accounting is a financial method that collects, organise, process and summarise data for financial reports and statements, which are then used in the decision making process. Accounting can be used to find and track key business trends, and to report relevant organisational information.

Accountants do much more than just prepare financial reports. Experienced accountants work strategically with various teams by providing expert financial advice on the impacts of management decisions, compliance and governance and the deployment of systems, resources and processes throughout the company.
