The courses is designed for staff working in breakfast/after school clubs, play schemes and holiday clubs. Level 3 candidates are generally working at supervisory level though may not have the relevant qualifications.

Assessment:You will be allocated 24 hours of assessment time by City College and will be supported by an allocated assessor during the length of your qualification. NVQ assessors will observe your achievements and skills in your workplace and you will collect a portfolio of evidence for assessment.
Academic Progression:On achieving this Level 3 qualification, you will be able to progress to Level 4 or a Foundation Degree.
Full Description:Units
You will need to complete five Mandatory units plus four units from
a range of Optional units, depending on your roles,
responsibilities and working environment.
Mandatory Units
- PW6 Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people
- PW7 Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children
- PW8 Develop and promote positive relationships
- PW9 Plan for and support self-directed play
- PW10 Reflect on and develop practice
