This course consists of the following:

The theories and principles of play and playwork, risk management and how to support the needs and rights of children to create diverse play environments.

Two units included:

  • Understand aspects of Playwork practice
  • Understand the theories underpinning Playwork practice
As an individual:
With a Level 3 Childcare qualification you may want to facilitate breakfast clubs, summer schools or after school groups. The Level 3 Transition to Playwork Award will enable you to gain an in depth understanding of the playwork approach.

As an employer:
You know that Ofsted requires at least one staff member in a playwork setting to hold a relevant Level 3 qualification.

Funding through the Joint Investment Programme, New College Nottingham can provide 50% of the cost of this training, matched by 50% employer's contribution.

Delivered by fully qualified staff, New College Nottingham will enable you and your business to increase employability skills through relevant qualifications.

Students must hold a Level 3 CCLD/Early Years qualification and work in the early years sector.
