This course will encourage you to develop the personal skills and qualities you need for work and help you achieve your full potential whilst giving you the chance to explore the opportunities offered in the Construction sector and to acquire appropriate skills.

Course Code: A008 Course Length: One year Course Schedule: 3 days Entry Requirements:There are no formal entry requirements, but applicants will be interviewed and will need to demonstrate the commitment, motivation and enthusiam to succeed on the course. Ideally you should have GCE in maths and english at grade E or F.
Core Skills:Communication, ability to solve problems and be able to work as part of a team
Assessment:Assessment of practical tasks and online end of unit assessments, students will also be required to complete an eternal online examination.
Academic Progression:After the course you could take a different Level 1 qualification or progress to the level 2 or trade specific level 1 or level 2 course in the following trades: Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Carpentry or Brickwork and Painting and Decorating
All learners must pass their level 1 course and their Functional skills before being considered for a level 2 Course. Your behaviour and attendence while on your level 1 course will also be assessed.
Career Progression:The Diploma in Construction will give you the basic understanding of different skills required in the building sector. You will be able to apply for an apprenticeship with the Diploam along with your GCE certificates.
Full Description:Your course is designed in three separate elements, vocational, personal and social development and functional skills. It is designed to allow maximum time developing various practical skills needed in the construction industry.
