Full TimeThis course which can be studied in Welsh or English medium
provides a sound base to progress into employment or higher
education within the agriculture industry. There are 18 units

These are taught using a range of different methods including practical sessions, classroom seminars, visits, guest speakers, and further self-study. Farm duties will be undertaken throughout the first year on the 1000 acre farm and forestry estate, where you will gain valuable work related experience alongside the farm staff on the dairy, beef and sheep enterprises. You will also complete 2 periods of work placement over the 2 year period which will further develop your practical skills and knowledge.
How you will gain the qualification
You will gain the qualification through the successful completion of course work, practical assessments and examinations.
What qualifications you need
5 GCSEs at A*-C including English Language/Welsh and either
Maths/Science or successful completion of a relevant level 2
qualification preferably at Merit or Distinction level.
Prospective students will be interviewed to establish their
suitability for the course.
If you have no Level Two qualification, you must have experience
of working within Agriculture as well as 5 GCSEs at A*-C.
Entry requirements may be waived for mature learners. This is
dependent on other qualifications and experience.
Enthusiasm and commitment are essential.
Where to next
Level 3 Diploma Learners may progress to the Extended Diploma or into employment. Level 3 Extended Diploma learners may progresss into employment or to a related Higher Education course.
