Description

Whether you are intending to keep your own sheep or are just interested in the subject, this course will give you the necessary underpinning knowledge and practical skills to successfully look after them.

Learners have the option to undertake the College Certificate which will not involve workplace assessments or they can choose to study the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture (Livestock Production) qualification for an additional fee of £300 unless they are eligible for fee remission. the Level 2 Diploma also includes workplace assessments on a sheep farm.

Students will use the college farm its flock of 400 breeding ewes. There will be visits to other farms near the college.

Entry Requirements

Interest in sheep. Students wishing to take the Level 2 Diploma should speak to the course tutor. Tetanus protection is recommended.
