Description

The Level 2 Certificate is a generic qualification that will be relevant across the Children and Young
People’s Workforce. It is mapped to the CWDC Induction Standards and the CCLD National
Occupational Standards and its main purpose will be to act as a bridging qualification towards the Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma.

Course content

To achieve the Level 2 Certificate learners must achieve 31 credits from the 13 mandatory units and a minimum of 4 credits from the optional units available.

Entry Requirements

Students must be employed in a range of children and young people's settings covering the age range 0-19 years. Roles might include: Care worker Child-minder Nursery nurse Youth worker Community worker Support worker Care assistant Foster carer

Delivery & Assessment methods

Delivery of knowledge in class or your workplace from your allocated Tutor. Allocation of Assessor who will assess learner in their place of work. Assessor support in building up a portfolio showing evidence of competence through observation, testimony, accounts and underpinning knowledge.

Progression

Completion of Level 2 can lead to promotion to a senior role and learners have the opportunity to complete other pathways and units for their CPD and go on to Level 3.
