This course will introduce learners to how laws are made in the UK and the major legal institutions which set the law. Leaners will also be given an introduction to criminal law including offences against the person and against property

- The main sources of English law
- The operation of the legal system
- The elements of a crime
- Murder, manslaughter and non fatal offences
- The general defences
- Theft, fraud, criminal damage and burglary
