A-Level Law (Wisbech Partnership)
Students will study the English legal system plus a detailed study of certain areas of criminal and civil law (see below).
AS level (year 1)
Module 1: Law making and the legal system
Module 2: The concept of liability including an introduction to criminal liability and liability for negligence
A2 level (year 2)
Module 3: Criminal law (homicide and assaults)
Module 4: Criminal law (offences against property) and concepts of law

developing a critical awareness of legal issues and the ability to
analyse and solve legal problems.
End Qualification:
You will gain an AS Level Qualification after completion of the first year, completion of year two will see you gaining the Full A2 Level.
Entry Requirements:
Interview required
Normally at least five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and success in subjects where a good memory and the ability to recall and write on a topic are required. GCSE law is not necessary or expected.
Assessment:
2 modules assessed by examinations taken for AS Law in the first academic year plus 2 modules assessed by examinations normally taken in June the following year for A2.
Progression from this course:
This course is a stepping stone to higher education or employment prospects generally in such diverse areas as the police, journalism and business. Many of our students have gone on to study law or other subjects at University and/or found employment in the business world.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials/resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information. Students must purchase at least one, preferably two recommended up-to-date textbooks for the first year and two further books ready for the second year (approx cost £20 each).
