This intensive course is for those who want to work in a legal secretarial or paralegal role, aiming to enhance their IT skills and gain a knowledge and understanding of the English legal system.
Students will cover:
- Legal documents in six areas of law
- Legal terminology
- Working in the legal environment
- A knowledge of legal practice & law
- Criminal law
- Audio transcription
- Legal word processing
- Proofreading & communication skills
- Spreadsheets
- Use of office equipment
- Teamworking skills
Students will also gain the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) Level 2 Diploma for Legal Secretaries.

Students must have the following:
- 4 GCSEs (2 at grades A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E in academic subjects including Maths, plus English at grade A*-C) or equivalent. Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English.
Adults 19+ who have industry experience but do not have the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.
