Description

This level 3 certificate is an advanced vocational qualification which focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the hairdressing industry. Designed to deliver a high level of occupational capability and provide a sound platform from which to progress to NVQs.

Entry Requirements

Two GCSEs at grade C or above two GCSEs at grade D or above or NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing or equivalent plus a satisfactory interview (two references and minimum 85% attendance).

Delivery & Assessment methods

All hairdressing programmes are assessed through a combination of the following: observation of practical work on clients; projects, assignments and case studies; written and oral questioning; work place assessment and a 'Portfolio of Evidence' to be submitted for assessment at the completion of the programme. You will also be required to complete a final written exam.

Progression

Employment in the hairdressing industry, or progression onto an advanced apprenticeship programme.
