Description

This is a short 13-week course, hence we will require you to attend all sessions. You will be required to do homework and self study outside the classroom.

This is a part time basic bookkeeping course, designed for students who are exploring their interest in the subject.

Course content

The course will assist students in the preparation of simple sole trader accounting records. You will learn how to:

  • Complete financial documents
  • Record cash and credit transactions
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Understand the petty cash system
  • Extract the trial balance

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications for this course, however students are expected to have a good level of literacy skills. All students will complete a diagnostic assessment prior to enrolment. This will assess their suitability for the course. No interview is required for this course. Applicants will be invited to enrol before the course is due to start.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Assessment is via one paper-based externally set examination at the end of the course.

Progression

After successful completion of this course students may wish to progress onto a professional accounting qualification e.g. AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, or learn about the Sage accounting software with our Computerised Accounting Level 1 course.
