This course is a recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma which gives adults with experience outside of formal education, the opportunity to enter higher education to train for a career within the Health Care sector in such areas as Health, Nursing, Midwifery etc.
Course content
The aim of the course is to equip students with the skills, knowledge and techniques which will allow them to be successful at university. This will include units in Science and Health in addition to mandatory units of Study Techniques and HE Toolkit. Learners will also have the opportunity to study Maths and English at GCSE level if not already achieved at grade C or higher.

Entry Requirements
Adults with experience outside of formal education. Entry to the course is through an initial assessment to determine level 2 aptitude in Numeracy and Literacy; plus an individual interview with a member of the specialist team to establish that students will benefit and succeed on the course. Students applying for Extended Day will normally be expected to hold either Maths or English GCSE or equivalent.
Delivery & Assessment methods
This is a two day intense programme and learners should be aware that classes can be at any time between 9am and 8pm on the days indicated. As a guideline most modules are assessed by a combination of coursework and examinations. Coursework may involve: essays, presentations, discussions and/or portfolios of evidence.

Nursing - Degree Midwifery Degree Health Studies Degree Associated Health Professions, e.g. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Speech Therapy, Podiatry.
