The Programme Content
The A Level in Sport and Physical Education covers a range of aspects related to sport and physical edcation. Because of it's diverse nature it is a challenging qualification, however, learners with a passion for sport or who want to further their understanding of Sport will find the course very interesting and of much benefit. Practical learners get a chance to perform in a range of physical education settings (coaching, performing or refereeing) so it is usually an enjoyable experience. Learners should not underestimate the difficulty of this qualification, since whilst there is practical involved, and on the whole the qualification is enjoyable, learners must still fulfil the requirements of AS and A Level learning to succeeed.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above. We strongly advise that all students enrol in a sports performance academy at Petroc to maximise their opportunity to achieve desired practical grades. Students are required to be actively performing in regular sport.
