How long is the course?
This is a full time course for one year.How will I be assessed?
Coursework is graded and there are no examinations involved in this qualification. There will be external coursework assessments set by Edexcel for 2012.What does the course lead to?
With further training or study, learners can go into a career as a computer technician.This course prepares learners for employment and provides a good grounding to go onto a more advanced course such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma for IT Practioners (Systems Support and Networking), or any other related Level 3 courses. For progression onto our level 3 programmes we are looking for students with good grades, but also the commitment and determination to suceed.
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D or equivalent. You will also need to undergo an interview. Familiarity with computers and computer terminology would be an advantage. References from school or employers would also support an application.How much does it cost?
You will be give access to all the software and hardware that you will need to complete this course, however we do suggest that you purchase a box file and several plastic document wallets to help you store and present your work. A data stick- although not essential is also recommended.How do I apply?
