On the Practical Work Skills courses you will learn how to work with others while improving your customer service skills in the BAY6 Centre, gaining valuable experience of a working environment.
You'll receive support from staff within BAY6; those with specific needs will recieve support from the College's additional support service.

How long is the course?

One year. Attendance is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 3pm.

You'll undergo personal development and work-related training - benefiting from our links with other agencies who can offer support towards further opportunities.

What does the course lead to?

Upon completion you could choose to undertake work experience in a voluntary capacity, apply for a work placement or utilise your new skills by gaining employment/supported employment.

What can I go on to study?

After successful completion of the course you could opt to progress to a Level 1 course offered at Vision West Notts.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you will be expected to complete an assessment to demonstrate that you are working at an appropriate level. You will also need to show an interest in catering and/or retail.
