This course is designed to qualify you as a semi-skilled technician and covers the main motorcycle systems including servicing, inspection, chassis and engine components including fuel and ignition systems as well as vehicle electrical principles.

You will receive a good grounding in the main aspects of the motorcycle industry.

How long is the course?

34 weeks.

How will I be assessed?

You will complete a portfolio of evidence including practical assessments, related on-line and written exams for each topic you study. You will also be expected to pass an exam in one functional skill.

What will I study?

Health and safety, workshop practice, steering, suspension and braking systems, vehicle electrics, e.g. lighting, starting and charging systems, engine and transmissions, ignition systems etc.

What does the course lead to?

The course will enable you to progress into the motorcycle industry as a semi-skilled technician.

The Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Principles Level 3.

Entry requirements

Successful and timely completion of the Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Level 1 and Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.

How much does it cost?

16 - 18 FREE, 19+ £350. You will be expected to provide your own steel toe-capped safety footwear and overalls as well as pens, notebooks etc.
