A course for anyone interested in a career in hospitality.

Description

You will develop skills in food preparation and cooking as well as food and drink service.

As part of the course you will complete practical units related to both food preparation and cooking, and food and drink services.
An EPD (Employment Personal Social Development) qualification will also be gained.

Functional Skills are a mandatory part of the course and you will be required to study Maths, English and ICT. These skills are designed to enhance your employment opportunities.

One year.

What will I study?

Units which will develop your skills in food preparation and cooking as well carrying out practical food and drink service.

What does the course lead to?

Employment within a kitchen or food and drink service environment.

Entry requirements

You will need to have a desire to work in a demanding environment and have a real interest in food/cooking and food and drink service.

No specific entry requirements but you should have some GCSE grades at D and E.

Level 1 is a basic course aimed at those entering the industry for the first time.
