NVQ Professional Cookery Food & Drink Service

£3,250 per annum
This course will enable you to gain a sound professional knowledge
of all aspects of food preparation and cooking, and food and drink
services to a nationally recognised qualification from City &
Guilds: the Lead Body for Catering Qualifications.
Each candidate will have set targets or goals of achievement within
a certain period of time to gain successful Level 1 within 6 months
and Level 2 within 18 months to 2 years. Depending on the
candidate's ability and commitment, this could then lead to a
Master Craftsman Qualification at Level 3, after a further period
of study.

Length of study -
This will depend on each student's aspirations and progression. A
period of study lasting 2 years will lead to qualifications,
including Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Hospitality Services, Level 2
NVQ Diploma in Hospitality including Food Preparation and
Food/Drink Service. At this time, each student may wish to take up
employment within the industry or progress to Level 3 NVQ Diploma
in Professional Cookery or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality
Supervision. These qualifications will lead to a supervisory post
within the industry, such as Chef de Partie, Restaurant Supervisor,
Pastry Chef or progression to a higher level course such as a
HND.
This is a full-time course and will involve evening restaurant
services.

Food Preparation & Production, Bakery and Patisserie, Food & Drink Service, Levels 1, 2 & 3 Award in Food Safety, Levels 1 & 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace, Customer Care VRQ, Functional Skills.
