How long is the course?
36 weeksHow will I be assessed?
Assessment is ongoing and consists of practical observations, oral questioning, projects, assignments, written tests and portfolio work.Assessment of work based learners is as above but practical assessments may be within college and also within the learners place of work.

- Safely control work operations (G22/03)
- Promoting services or profucts (G18/020)
- Hairdressing consultations (G21/037)
- Cutting techniques (GH16/038)
- Colouring hair (GH17/039)
- Colour correction (GH18/040)
- Creative styling and dressing (GH19/041)
- Dress long hair (GH20/042)
- Creative hairdressing skills (GH12/043)
What else can I do?
Learners can undertake any of the barbering full cost classes to develop their working experience.What does the course lead to?
Upon completion of the course you could expect to gain employment as a creative stylist, salon manager and/or trainer or product company technician.What can I go on to study?
Progression to the Higher Education Foundation Award in Hairdressing and Salon Management.Entry requirements
The programme can be accessed through successful completion of the Hairdressing Level 2 qualification or relevent industrial experience. Full time applicants will need to be self employed, employed or working unpaid within a salon.Work-based learners must be on the Advanced Apprenticeship framework and be between 16 to 24 years of age.
