How you will gain the qualification
The course work is by continuous assessment. Assessment is by practical observation, oral questioning, written work and externally set examinations.
What qualifications you need
The qualification is available for students who hold a Level 2 or equivalent in hairdressing. This course is available on the Modern Apprenticeship scheme. An interview and skills assessment is a requirement prior to entry on the Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF). In addition, you will also be required to attend screening for Essential skills Wales to ensure the facilitation of learning meets individual needs.
The Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) Part Time Study
Part time Modern Apprentice route to learning, prior certification of Application of Number Level 1, Communications Level 1, Information Technology Level 1 would be required. The Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) Full Time Study
Full time programme of study, prior certification of Communications Level 2, Improve Own Learning Level 2 and Communications Level 2 would be a requirement.

This qualification provides learners with the necessary understanding and skills to work as an advanced hairdresser. Progression opportunities also exist in the form of specialist vocationally related qualifications at level 3 and level 4.
