What will I study?

The course content will cover the knowledge and skills required to support children's care and development, children's welfare, paediatric first aid, enabling learning environments and positive relationships.

You will also study a Functional Skill at a level appropriate to you.

What does the course lead to?

Upon successful completion you could decide to pursue a career in a childcare setting as an early years worker or progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (available at the college).

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above (must include English Language), Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children or Level 1 Health and Social Care.

You will need to be successful at interview and provide two suitable references (at least one from a tutor/teacher), prior to acceptance.

You will be required to undertake a CRB check that you will fund prior to undertaking a placement.
