- Health Psychology
- Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology
- Physiology of Fluid Balance
- Physiological Disorders
- Nutrition
- Safeguarding Adults and Promoting Independence
- Caring for Children and Young People
- Complementary Therapies
What does the course lead to?
On successful completion of the course you will have achieved the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care which is equivalent to three A Levels.Along with your work placement experiences and voluntary work, this qualification should enhance your employment prospects within the health and social care sectors in a range of roles.
It may also enable you to apply to progress onto higher education.
What can I go on to study?
Upon completion of the course you could apply to go onto higher education courses such as: nursing, psychology, social work, paramedic, nutrition, occupational health criminology or undertake a degree in health and social care.Entry requirements
Five subject-relevant GCSEs at grade C or above (this must include English language, Maths and Science) or a relevant Level 2 BTEC Diploma at Distinction level plus Level 2 Literacy.You will need to provide two good references and be successful at interview.
All students will be required to have a CRB check and be ISA
registered. This will be completed after being offered a
conditional offer of a place on the course and will be arranged by
the college. You will be required to fund this.
Any reprimands, cautions or convictions MUST be disclosed at
interview as this may affect your acceptance onto the course.
