The qualification will enable you to recognise the importance of effective communication in the workplace. You will also develop a deeper understanding of health and safety and quality standards, identify personal development needs and issues surrounding equality and diversity.

Our Working in the Health Sector QCF Level 2 qualification has been mapped to the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (NHS KSF). It also meets the requirements of the technical certificate for the Health Apprenticeship Framework. This qualification may facilitate entry into the NHS as this qualification forms the basis of the NHS KSF that all new NHS staff have to complete and all existing staff have to undertake for their personal development.

Know how to summon immediate help in an emergency.

Unit 4: Service improvement in the health sector

Know how to carry out evaluation of services.
Know how to pass on constructive ideas for improving service provision.
Know how to make changes to own practice to improve service provision.

Unit 5: Maintaining quality standards in the health sector

Know how legislation, policies and procedures determine quality standards of work.

Qualifications

Qualification: NCFE Level 2 Working in the Health Sector

On successful completion of our NCFE Level 2 Working in the Health Sector Qualification. You will receive a qualification listed on the QCF at level 2 (Qualification Reference Number: 500/6103/3). This course has also been assigned 13 credits.

Requirements for Entry

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

Study Options

In order to offer our students the most convenient and flexible distance learning courses, Stonebridge Associated College offers you the option to study for your course via two methods:

  • 1. Via the traditional paper-based method.
  • 2. Through the online method via ElearnUK.

Study Hours

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 75 hrs.
