Assessment is carried out internally by the course tutors. Coursework is continually assessed on completion of projects and assignments.What will I study?
You will develop skills in using a broad range of art and design media, materials and technologies as well as appreciating art and design in a broad historical context.
What does the course lead to?
Progression with a Merit grade could include one of the range of BTEC Extended Diplomas that we offer, such as:- General Art & Design
- Graphic Design
- Clothing and Textiles Design
- Multimedia Design
Alternatively, employment in your chosen career with further training.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have a literacy qualification at Level 1, supported by a general education equivalent of at least four GCSEs at grade D. You must also provide a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your creative ability.All applicants progressing from a Level 1 programme must be able to show evidence of a high level of commitment to the programme and its demands, and demonstrate an ability to work effectively. You will also be required to attend an interview with art and design staff.
