Mentoring and the Support of Personal and Professional Development in Education - Advanced Professional Development [Level HE7] part-time
Starting dates and places
DescriptionThis course explores a range of theories and models relating to mentoring and the support of personal development in educational settings. We recognise that the policies and practices related to mentoring often depend on the context in which they occur, so we will analyse how approaches to mentoring may be affected by the organisation and by individual mentors. You will also explore personal and professional development, and be required to analyse your own development in education through keeping a learning journal and engaging in reflective thinking. The course also considers the skills needed for effective mentoring and for being an effective mentee.
