Description
The aim of the security practitioner qualification is to provide a learning programme which seeks to support learners accessing appropriate recognised security industry qualifications.
Learners complete the NcFE Uniformed Services Level 3 award in combination with a range of focused technical awards that are recognised by the Security Industry Association. This includes the Door Supervisors award and Understanding the Safety of Spectators. Learners will also seek to complete a programme of Personal and Social Development.

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
1 GCSE at grade C or above in English,
maths or a science subject, plus at least 2 at grade D. Candidates
must have at least a grade D in English. Alternatively, a level 2
certificate plus 1 GCSE at grade C or above in English, maths or a
science subject.
Students progressing internally from existing courses must be able
to demonstrate a high level of success in achieving all of their
qualifications to date and a good reference reflecting strong
attendance and behaviour. For some students an agreement will be
reached to comply with an academic contract from the start of the
course.
Assessment:
The course involves vocational assignment based work.
Progression from this course:
Successful students will possess the ideal profile for direct entry into a branch of the uniformed or public services or the security industry. Other learners will be considered for progression onto the level 3 pathway where they meet the appropriate entry criteria.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
