This new 10-day course covers the following:

Door supervision is aimed at anyone seeking employment in frontline security. The course involves theory work (such as laws it is essential to know) and practical work (physical intervention and self-defence techniques). Assessment is predominantly through multiple-choice exams.

CCTV training is for anyone interested in working in security industry using CCTV. The college has its own mobile CCTV systems so a lot of work is done using real-life equipment, which enhances the theory and preparation for work.

Emergency first aid training focuses on dealing with emergency situations and administering life-saving treatment.

Teaching/learning methods include:
Classroom-based learning, group work and interaction, tutor training and assessment, quizzes, scenario and role play, relevant video clips and power point presentation. We have a mock bar and a CCTV control room for simulation training.

Assessment is by:

- 4 x multiple-choice exams
- CCTV practical assessment
- physical intervention practical assessment
- first aid written and multiple choice test, with practical assessment

Attending this course you will gain the qualifications to apply to the SIA (Security Industry Authority). You also gain a first aid certificate, which most employers like security staff to have.

For your security licenses, this will enable you to find work as a security guard static or mobile, door supervisor in pub, clubs and at events, CCTV operator in shopping malls or for local authority run CCTV systems. You also gain a first aid certificate, which most employers like security staff to have.


Qualifications
Level 2 Award in Door Supervision.
Level 2 Award in CCTV (public space surveillance)
Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid

Entry requirements:
- 18 years old or above
- good English literacy skills
- Home Office ID requirements
- 2 x passport type photos
- reasonable level of fitness

Skills/abilities
- good communication skills
- ability to work in a team
- great time keeping
- self control
- able to work long hours if required

Equipment
- pen and note book
- comfortable clothes for physical intervention

You can find work as a security guard (static or mobile), a door supervisor in pubs, clubs and at events, a CCTV operator in shopping malls or for local authority-run CCTV systems.
