This is a pre-course taster day and is strongly recommended for those wishing to apply for a place on the CELTA course.
CELTA is an initial teaching qualification for people who would like to teach EFL (English as a Foreign Language) or ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) either in this country or abroad. It is suitable for people with no experience of teaching people who have been teaching in other subject areas or people who have unqualified EFL/ESOL teaching experience.

On this one day introduction to CELTA you will learn about a
variety of approaches to teaching and learning and gain a flavour
of what it is like to teach a CELTA class.
This is a non-accredited course but compulsory if you wish to be offered a place on the CELTA course.
You need a first degree or professional equivalent experience of learning a foreign or second language yourself and a very high level of spoken and written English plus a good level of language awareness.
If you wish to become fully qualified you can apply for the CELTA course.
