The Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is the relevant qualification for those wishing to assess learning in the workplace. It is a Level 3 award and has been developed for assessors. The first unit - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is knowledge based. The second unit - Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment is competence based. OCR is the awarding body and the qualification will be externally verified.

classroom sessions. There will be a variety of approaches to
teaching and learning and you will develop evidence for the award
as the course progresses.
The Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is the relevant qualification for those wishing to assess learning in the workplace. It is a Level 3 award and has been developed for assessors. OCR is the awarding body and the qualification will be externally verified.
You need GCSE English at grade C or above (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate that you have Level 2 literacy skills.
You may wish to obtain an Award Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or an Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. Depending on your role and career aspirations you may wish to obtain other qualifications such as a Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) award Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).
