Plus two optional units to be agreed by the course tutor. A Course for Trainee technicians in Architecture, Building or Building Control, Quantity or Land Surveying and Environmental Health. Also unemployed status students may be eligible to embark upon this course. Entry Requirements Four GCSEs at Grade C, or equivalent, or a BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in Construction or Engineering, or City & Guilds Advanced Craft in Brickwork or Carpentry and Joinery. Assessment Continuous assessment. Progression after Programme As is the case for all National Certificate and Diploma courses, the Certificate in Construction (Building Studies) will provide a route to Higher Education to follow Higher National Certificate or Diploma Courses, or Degree Courses, and a large proportion of successful students choose to take advantage of this opportunity to move into Higher Education.
