IT (ICT Systems Support) BTEC 90 Credit Diploma Level 3

This is a practical, work-related course which provides a broad foundation in Computing studies and a firm basis for specialism in Computer Networking and IT Technical Support. You may leave the course at the end of the first year with 90 credits, however successful completion of the full 2 year course is equivalent to 3 A-levels and which will therefore attract UCAS points to enable entry to University.The Extended Diploma is made up of 18 units: 8 core units plus 10 specialist units. The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum, covering core areas such as Computer Systems, Information Systems, Computer Networks, Managing Networks, Communication Technologies, IT Technical Support, IT Systems Troubleshooting and Repair and Communications and Employability Skills. Among the specialist units, you will study two CCNA units which are valuable networking qualifications recognised by employers.
