Award in the Fundamental Principles and Requirements of Environmental Technology Systems (City & Guilds). Essential Skills Essential Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT (if applicable).
City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating units of study include: Understand how to organise resources within building services engineering. Understand and carry out electrical work on domestic plumbing and heating systems and components. Understand and apply domestic cold water systems installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques. Understand and apply domestic hot water systems installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques. Understand and apply domestic central heating systems installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques. Understand and apply domestic sanitation systems installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques. Install, commission, service and maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems. Installation, service and maintenance of domestic plumbing and heating systems. Options include Oil Firing pathway or Pressure Jet appliances.
What support is available while I am on the course? You will be allocated a personal tutor to help you throughout the course. The college also offers learning support and guidance.
How can I succeed on this programme? Punctuality and 100% attendance at your vocational day release and Essential Skills (if applicable). Demonstrate commitment to your course. Appropriate behaviour and maturity. Ability to work with others and use your own initiative. Accuracy is the key in plastering so you will need to be careful and methodical. Be physically fit and have a good head for heights. Be able to follow technical drawings and plans closely. Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Safety conscious.
What will I gain? City & Guilds NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating. ApprenticeshipsNI Full Framework certificate.
Employers There is NO COST to the apprentice or the employer for ApprenticeshisNI training. The only cost to the employer is the apprentices salary. An Employer Financial Incentive is available on achievement by the Apprentice of full Level 2 and/or Level 3 Framework. This incentive ranges from £250 to £1,500 depending on the complexity and level of apprenticeship undertaken.
Assessment Methods
Continuous assessment throughout the course of practical workshop and theory tasks. Evidence of competency can be obtained through observations in the workplace, physical Site products of work, reports, plans, photographs, online assessments, witness testimony, discussion and questioning.
