Plumbing and Heating Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is ideal for those wishing to widen their skills and experience within the plumbing trade. It is broken down into units that will cover both the theory and practical aspects of plumbing, and also various skills needed in the workplace.

The elements that make up the apprenticeship framework are:

- Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing
- Functional Skills in English and Maths Level 2
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Unvented Hot Water Systems, Water Regulations

Candidates who undertake gas work in the workplace will also be able to achieve the following qualification:
Domestic Core Gas Safety Domestic Boilers

On this apprenticeship you spend one day a week in college participating in classroom and practical sessions. The other four days are spent in the workplace. You take the skills you have learned at college out to the workplace, and will be expected to bring in work-based evidence and build a portfolio with the evidence you have collected in the workplace.

An assessor will visit your work place to observe your working practices. All functional skills will be delivered at college within your day release.

You build on the basic knowledge acquired from the intermediate apprenticeship and gain a more in-depth insight into the profession and future careers open to you. You broaden your skill base.

All applicants must have successfully completed their Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Plumbing.

The advanced plumbing apprenticeship opens up a huge number of career opportunities for you. You could work for an established firm as a plumbing or heating technician, but there is also plenty of scope for self-employment.
