Cut the Mustard - Design and Illustration through the Medium of Laser Cutting, Short Course Programme

Laser cutting and engraving on paper has become a very popular medium for designers. Laser cutting is being used today by successful graphic designers, illustrators and fine artists looking to communicate in dynamic and innovative ways.

This one-day course is your opportunity to experience the aesthetic as well as technical qualities of laser cutting. There will be a brief introduction to Jason's work followed by a practical session on the design process and the technical aspects of laser cutting. Finally there will be a brief set for the day with a simple objective (such as creating an illustrated book cover design). Key elements of Adobe Illustrator will also be taught to realise your project and link your work to the laser cutter. Work will be cut after the session for attendees to pick up the following week.

To attend, all you need is basic level experience on computers (such as opening/saving files and scanning images). It is an ideal opportunity to try your hand at illustration, design and laser cutting, expand your portfolio for either further education or professional reasons, or to help develop a personal design and illustration style.
