Is this course for me?

This qualification is for those who wish to teach Post-16 learners in the Lifelong Learning Sector which includes further education colleges, adult education centres or the workplace. It is intended for those employed in the Full Teacher role, as defined by the Institute for Learning. Access to a minimum of 150 hours of teaching over the duration of the course is required.

Initial and diagnostic assessment Session planning skills Theories of teaching and learning Selecting appropriate materials Key aspects of current legislation Assess, monitor and provide feedback on learner progress and performance Evaluate own practice and continuing professional development

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? On successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to deliver in the Full Teacher Role as defined by the Institute for Learning and gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. Progression routes will be advised to all trainees before enrolling on the programme as routes are varied, depending on individual aims
