Course Content: AS Level Practical problem solving in the digital world enables students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the development of IT systems through practical experience in using a range of applications software in a structured way. Living in a digital age makes students aware of the numerous issues arising from the use of ICT for individuals, society and organisations. Course Content: A2 Level The use of ICT in a digital world addresses issues associating with the management of ICT and its use within organisations. It looks at the fast changing subject of ICT and how the development of technology and systems capabilities affect how the world makes use of ICT. Practical issues involved in the use of ICT in the digital world provides student with the opportunity to complete a substantial project involving the production of an ICT related system over an extended period of time. Year one:

Assessment Method
Year one: Students will sit a 1_ hour exam for Modules 1 and 2. For the practical problem solving paper candidates will bring into the exam a sample of their work to provide evidence of problem identification and a test plan with samples of testing evidence. Year two: Students will sit a 2 hour exam on the Use of ICT in the digital world. Course work will be assessed by the completion and documentation of their coursework project. This is an Access based application to meet an end user requirement. This is marked by their tutor and moderated by AQA.
Progression
Students may progress onto a range of Higher Education ICT and Computing courses. AQA AS/A-Level IC.
Entry Requirements
GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above.
